 Sound

The sensation felt by our ears is called sound . Sound is form of energy. Sound is that form of energy which make us hear . 

We hear many sound around us in every day life . At music concert , we hear the sound produce by various musical instruments like sitar , Veena , violin , guitar, tampura , piano , harmonium etc. Each sound is special object which produce it. For example, the ticking of a clock , the click of an elctric switch and the whirr (sound rotation).

Sound Is Produced By Vibrating Object

When an object move backword and forword (to- and -fro) rapidly , we say that the object 'vibrate' or that the object 'vibrating' . Sound is produced when an object vibrates (move to-and-fro rapidly).In other word , sound is produced by vibrating object .in some cases,the vibration of a sound producing object are quit large which we can se with our eyes. But it other cases , the vibration of the sound production object are so small that we cannot see them easily,we have to feel the vibration of such an object by touching it gently with the finger of our hand .figure number .1 is given see this digram and learn .

Sound can be produced when membrane or skin of a tabla vibrate .

•  Sound is produced when the stretched membrane (or Skin)of the drum vibrate

• By vibrating air column
• By vibrating membrane

Propagation of sound :

Thus, when an object vibrates (and make sound ) ,then the air around it also start vibrating in exactly the same way and carries sound to our ears through the vibration of its molecules .

Sound produced by human 

The human being produced sound by using the voice box which is called 'larynx'.The human voice box contain two ligament known as vocal card . Sound is produced by the vibration of vocal card .
