   An object which give out it own light is called a luminous object.  The luminous objects are ,in fact ,the source of light.

since luminous object give out their own light they can be seen even in dark .  A luminous object seen because the light given out by it enters our eyes.

  

for example," we can see the sun because the light given out by sun enters our eyes.  similarly we can see 

(ii) 

luminous object: the sun, other stars, burning candle,lighted electric 💡 bulb ,lighted torch etc 

An object which does not given out its own light is called a non -luminous object like this

. table,chair , book, bag, carpet ,pen 🖊️,, pencil ✏️ etc 

The non luminous object can be seen only when light coming out luminous object like (sun , electric 💡 , torch 🔦, etc) fall on them .

we can see the non luminous objects because they reflect light (received from a luminous object)into your eyes .

A flower is seen because it reflects the light which fall on it .the flowers is non luminous objects
